I'm actually very curious to know how many people in my region/country will be, or already are, an owner of an Adam. Wouldn't it be nice to meet up and share our excitement?
So this is an invitation for everyone to create lists for each individual country or region. This blog can be a platform to do so. If you would like your country/region included in the region-sheet, then just put a little comment here mentioning your particular country or region. That way, we can all get an idea of where our nearest Adam-neighbors are located. Perhaps, we can even try to organize ourselves!

Hi Joe,
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for a good thought implemented. I'm hoping to get my hands on an ADAM too, pretty chuffed by the idea of Rohan and team. Only thing I have to comment on your website is that I could spot a few spelling mistakes ie "usefull", "knowlledge" etc. It would be great to get rid of these little niggles. Otherwise, you've done a good job, I certainly think I'll visit your site often.
Thank you.
Sridhar
Can you see that I'm not a native speaker ;)
ReplyDeleteAbout Dutch ebooks, Selexyz has a few. Not a "huge" selection, but some. -> http://www.selexyzebooks.nl
ReplyDeleteIf that link doesn't work, just go to www.selexyz.nl and look for ebooks in the menu's, I'm sure you'll find them.
I'm from Belgium and natively speak dutch, but I mainly read my ebooks (and books in general) in English. So it's not really an issue for me that a lot of content book-wise is found in English.
What DOES bug me is that I can't buy a lot of ebooks because of tax issues. I can't for example buy an ebook from an American store, because American stores won't let me. Apparently, if I'd be buying a book from an American store, I wouldn't be paying the mandatory 21% taxes to my government on the "goods" (ebook) that I would be importing.
So because an e-book isn't a tangible item, a lot of European countries will not be allowed to purchase them outside of Europe. Just because there is no system in place, to be able to tax us on it. Ugh...
thanks for sharing! I'm from Belgium too and understand you perfectly;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for expanding the list!
However I'm curious, where do you buy your english books then?
Hi Belgskes.... Belgian too, ( Antwerp) on teh subject Ebooks, there are a huge amount of Ebooks to find on the usenet...
ReplyDeleteSecondly, will the NI Adam, have a azerty keyboard too?
Cheers
FL
Anonymous: the keyboard is software anyway, I'm pretty sure you'll be able to install one on there that supports azerty. If not, don't worry, I can type on both qwerty and azerty, you get used to it pretty fast. Btw, you can visit notioninkhacks.com, perhaps they already have some ideas on this, if not I'm sure they're the perfect team to help you out with this. :D
ReplyDeleteThe english e-books I've read so far, don't need to be paid for. They come from free ebook sites. :D I have gathered a HUGE database of them by now, and have stopped collecting any more, have to get through these first. :D
The ones I tried to buy, always ended up disappointing me because I couldn't get to them. There are however apparently some english sites that are willing to sell to belgium. But as with many things, a "startkabel" site is usually a good place to start: http://ebook.startkabel.nl/
I wanted "born to run" for example, ended up buying it coz I couldn't get it in ebook. Sucks, really.
Cool to see so many Belgians on here interested in Notion Ink. I'm hoping to be included in pre-order2 but I'm not sure it'll work out. Keeping fingers crossed though. :D
BTW Joe, did you get in on pre-order 1 ? If so, could you let us know how much duties and crap will be ? I calculated a total price of 605euro's or so for the pixel QI 3G version. :)
ReplyDeletethx Heyloa keyloa, but my internet server gives me free usenet...so I can download the Ebooks for free..alt biniares etc..., ;:=)
ReplyDeleteI have no problem with querty, worked for US company in Antwerp with US notebooks... but if az..would be available it would be ok too, for the family.
Adam might be a great challenge again for me, as I have never worked with Android before ,;:=O
The biggest problem will be to get one,in a reasonable time,as I did not see/find any pre order bulletins.Might have tuned in too late.
Wondered if they might be available in India..?
Cheers
Frank
